What is a Pioneer -- International versus Homefront?

An international pioneer is any person who arises and leaves his or her home to journey to another country for the purpose of teaching the Cause of God.  A homefront pioneer denotes those individuals who move to areas within their own country that have yet to be exposed to the Teachings of their Faith or where the religious community needs strengthening.

What is a Pioneer for Life Portal Site?

All websites created, edited, maintained and managed by JusLo and Associates are designated as a Pioneer for Life portal sites. 

Revenues generated from these informational websites initially will go towards allowing the Editor to serve God as an international pioneer in foreign lands. And, as the sites popularity and income grows, monies will also be earmarked to deputize (i.e. allow others) to be able to serve in the pioneering field.

How is money generated on Pioneer for Life sites (i.e. how do we pay the hosting fees and/or make a profit)?

This is explained more in detail on the support page posted at RecallingHealth, but briefly I primarily use Google (TM) ad placements. Google pays my account pennies (literally) each time someone clicks on an ad for product/ideas/areas of interest. As of this writing, I also have Google ads in page headers, and on some sites in page footers.

Website owners can use earning from these ads to pay for web hosting accounts (i.e. renting web space since none of my portal sites are free accounts) or any other purpose.  Of course Google does not tolerate or take kindly to click fraud, you know, the practice of clicking on ads just for the purpose of generating revenue for the webmaster, but clicking on items of interest is always welcomed as it exposes the advertisers' products to new customers. And that, in a nutshell, is why the advertisers pay Google to place the ads on website publishers' sites in the first place.

Another very small revenue generator is the Google Search box, generally located at the bottom of my sites. If you click on any sponsored ads that show up as a result of your search term, the website owner gets paid even fewer pennies for this, sometimes as low as 0.02 cents.

Affiliate Programs

Some revenues are also earned through affiliate programs. Affiliate commissions are earned when my website copy refers you to a link that takes you to a merchant's website, and from that visit to the merchant's website you decide to make a purchase. 

I have joined a number of selected affiliate programs offering products that complement the information presented on my sites. Most of the products/services offered by my affiliated merchants have already been tested or used by me, so I can generally make a personal recommendation to you regarding any features or benefits I have experienced. An example: lets say I tell you to get your natural cholesterol lowering supplements from Xtend-Life  because I have tried their products and they have worked very well for me in increasing my "good" cholesterol and decreasing my "bad" cholesterol count. You then click on the link to Xtend Life at one of my portal sites, you look around the merchants site and find a product or products that you simply must have and you then place your order. In this case, the company then credits me for making the referral to their site and pays me a percentage of the money they have earned from the sell--a sale which they would not have made otherwise. This referrral in no way raises the price of the item, since you pay the same as all customers to their sites, but it does help support the webmaster of the site that made the referral. Commissions generally range anywhere from 5% to 50%.

Some people do not like clicking on affiliate links and would rather go directly to the site after the webmaster has given them the information and they know the name of the merchant's site. This is unfortunate because, like brick and mortal businesses, webmasters--at least the ones operating as a professional resource offering quality information--usually have to pay a yearly fee for their own domain name, have to pay for webhosting (renting a space on the web), and some webmasters/site owners even have to pay advertising fees to get their sites listed in search engines so people can find them.

I have been fortunate in not having to pay to be listed in any search engine, and at the same time I have all my sites rank in the top 1 to 5% of all websites visited on the net, according to Alexa. This is not because I am so smart, but simply because the principles taught in the Site Build It web building program is right on the money when it comes to building a site that is both people friendly and search engine friendly.

Information sites also require webmasters to be involved in research and to spend a great deal of time on the net finding good resources and content to make available to site visitors. Many times he/she will use their own experience to write and share original articles on a particular topic.
